MQ-2 Smoke Gas Sensor

Description:

The MQ-2 Smoke Gas Sensor is a popular and low-cost sensor used for detecting a wide range of combustible gases and smoke. It utilizes a sensitive layer made of tin dioxide (SnO2), a metal oxide semiconductor material. When the target gas interacts with the surface of the sensing element, it causes a change in the sensor's electrical resistance. This change in resistance is then converted into an analog voltage output, which varies with the concentration of the detected gas. The MQ2 is capable of detecting gases like LPG, butane, propane, methane, hydrogen, alcohol, and carbon monoxide (CO), as well as smoke particles. Due to its broad detection range, it is commonly used in various safety and monitoring applications.
